Migraine negatively impacts on virtually all aspects of life and severe forms affect up to 2% of the world’s population. But as Professor Dawn Buse of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York tells us, only half of patients with migraine seek treatment, and the treatment they receive is rarely the treatment they need, increasing the risk of medication overuse headache. Fortunately, there are signs and strategies for identifying and dealing with potential difficulties.
